Immigrant Legal Resource Center
The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC), founded
in 1979, offers a variety of legal information and resources
to non-profit professionals, pro bono attorneys and
newcomers across the country.

The ILRC is a bridge between attorney and paraprofessional
advocates who represent newcomers and the complicated
and specialized legal issues that challenge their clients.
The ILRC is a national expert on a wide range of issue

Going beyond its role as a traditional resource center,
the ILRC is committed to helping newcomers develop civic
participation and leadership skills. This area of effort
includes:
Training community based agencies to develop
the leadership potential of their immigrant clients
as a way to strengthen capacity.
Educating
newcomers of all ages about citizenship, democratic
government, civic participation, media outreach and
other social change tactics.
Partnering
with activists and organizers and offering legal consultations
and referrals at community meetings.
Providing
legal and policy analysis on immigration issues and
organizational support for immigrant-led grassroots
groups.
