| Central Valley Partnership for
Citizenship
The Central Valley Partnership for
Citizenship (CVP) is a collaboration of community organizing, legal
assistance, popular education, social service, media, youth
empowerment, and applied research organizations spanning California's
Central Valley.
Since 1996, CVP partners have launched
campaigns and implemented programs to assist migrants, immigrants, and
refugees organizing to claim their rightful place in the civic,
cultural, and economic life of the Valley. The CVP supports Valley
communities working together to achieve social and institutional change
- change that provides the opportunity for all who reside in the Valley
to live in dignity and good health, participate fully in decisions that
affect their lives, and assume the rights and responsibilities of
citizenship in its broadest sense.

The CVP works to:
Increase civic participation among migrants,
immigrants, and refugees in the Valley.
Expand opportunities for community leaders
and organizations to engage in collaborative work that promotes civic
participation throughout the Valley.
Strengthen the capacity of community groups,
leaders, and organizations to secure policy change at the local, state,
and federal levels that increases institutional accountability to,
affirms the human rights of, and facilitates the acquisition of legal
status and naturalization for immigrants, migrants, and refugees.
Past and current funders of the CVP
include:
California Department of Education
The California Endowment
The Emma Lazarus Fund of the Open Society Institute
The Hearst Foundation, Inc.
The James Irvine Foundation
National Rural Funders Collaborative
The Women's Foundation
