CVP Collaborative Programs:
Central Valley Civic Leadership Award

The Central Valley Civic Leadership Award honors exemplary leadership in fostering immigrant, migrant, and refugee civic engagement.

Starting in 2004, this annual award will honor an immigrant, migrant, or refugee in California’s Central Valley who has displayed exemplary leadership in fostering civic involvement among newcomers in the Valley.

One $50,000 bequest, made possible by the Council on Foundations’ 2001 Robert W. Scrivner Award for Creative Grantmaking to Craig McGarvey for his work with Central Valley immigrant communities, and a matching grant of $50,000 from The James Irvine Foundation, provides $2,500 annually as a cash award to the winner and for the administration of the program.
